Originaire de Paris Jah Acid Dub a un passé bercé par le Jazz (Be Bop), l’Acid Jazz, la musique indienne (Raga) et le Reggae. A la recherche de nouveaux rythmes et textures, il plonge dans la galaxie hypnotique de la Dub devenant un inconditionnel de Lee Scratch Perry (The Upsetter - période “Black Ark Studio”).

Ses influences passent par les grands du Roots tel que Lee Perry, King Tubby's, les Scientist, Augustus Pablo, Glen Brown, Israël Vibration et les nouveaux comme The Orb, Stress Assassin, Tikiman, Rhythm & Sounds, Pole, Caspar Pound & Jammin’ Unit, Backroom Beats (Twisted Records), Liquid Dub, OTT, Youth, LSD (Liquid Sound Design), etc...

Le nom de Jah Acid Dub vient de trois concepts. 
- Jah pour dire que la base rythmique de ses morceaux est basé sur le Reggae.
- Acid car il utilise la Silverbox (la fameuse TB303) et pour un petit clin d’œil à l’Acid Jazz.
- Dub parce qu’il fait de la Dub Music !  

Jah Acid Dub compose et auto-produit seul tous ses riddims dans son propre home studio dénommé « The Bad Weed Studio ». Il est partagé entre plusieurs styles : L’Electro Dub, l’Ambient Dub,  l’Atmosphérique Dub, Le Psychédélique Dub, l’Hypnotique Dub, la Dubby House et le côté Atomique Dance Floor mais le tout toujours sur des fondations très Roots.

Ses compositions sont enveloppées d’épaisses basses, une solide maîtrise des boites à rythme et beaucoup d’effets : Echo, Réverbération, Phasing, Distorsion, E.Q et Filtre. Dubbin’ with the “old roostsy stylee foundation”, Jah Acid Dub suit la tradition du dub. En 1996 il dénomme son style “Acid Dub” (à cause de l’utilisation systématique de la TB303).  

Jah Acid Dub est Matthieu Ziegler AKA Matzig.

The name of Jah Acid Dub comes from three concepts.
- Jah for saying that the rhythmic base of his tracks are based on Reggae.
- Acid because he uses the Silverbox (the famous TB303 from Roland) and for a small wink to Acid Jazz.
- Dub because he makes Dub Music! 

Jah Acid Dub composes and own-produce lonely all his riddims in his own home studio called "The Bad Weed Studio".  He is divided between several styles:  Electro Dub, Ambient Dub, Atmospheric Dub, Psychédélique Dub, Hypnotic Dub, Dubby House and Atomic Dance Floor but the whole always on foundations very Roots. 

His compositions are wrapped  with deep bass, a solid controls of machine drums and much effects:  Echo, Reverb, Phasing, Distortion, E.Q and Filter.  Dubbin' with the old roostsy stylee foundation,  Jah Acid Dub follows the tradition of the dub. In 1996 he names his style “Acid Dub”  (because of the systematic use of the TB303).
